This is why you shouldn’t let your kids be kissed on the lips
Even if healthcare treatments have progressed to great heights, it is still advised to be more cautious.

Briony was a 10-year old girl living in Adelaide, Australia. One day, something bad happened to her. She suddenly became feverish that she has even stopped eating or drinking. This has raised the concern of her parents that her mother, Bridget has decided to take her to the hospital.
When they’ve arrived there, the doctors diagnosed her with just cold sores, which the doctors described as the tiny ulcers at the back of Briony’s throat. Little do they know what the real cause is so the docs just gave her antibiotics and were sent home. However, she was asked to come back for a follow-up check-up the following week, but it was too late.
Briony died even before the second check-up was conducted. It seems that it wasn’t just a simple sore throat.

She had suffered different disorders such as multiple organ failures and died because of the herpes simplex virus. The doctor that took a look at Briony only knew that this virus is only present in the tongue, gums, and lips of the patient but never at the back of the throat. This seems alarming as another possible area to be checked upon is in the back of the throat.

The virus has a couple of symptoms which include abrupt onset of illness, fever, gingivitis, etc.
To prevent this from happening again we must safeguard our young ones. We shouldn’t just let any of our friends and relatives kiss the kid from the lips, it is where herpes would be transmitted.
Prevention is always better than cure so this should be an example to avoid this tragedy to happen again.
